Terms of Service

Agreement

By creating a Flipped account and installing the Flipped Mac app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use Flipped.

What Flipped does

Flipped is a distraction-blocker for iPhone users. You install a Mac app that supervises your iPhone over USB, and our server sends restriction profiles over Apple's Push Notification service to hide apps and filter Safari URLs when you want to focus.

Flipped is a tool for your own device. It is not intended for parental controls over other people's devices without their knowledge, corporate deployment, or any surveillance use case.

Not affiliated with Apple. Flipped is an independent product. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. "iPhone," "Apple," "Apple Push Notification service," and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc. We use standard iOS device-management APIs that Apple makes available to developers.

Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create a Flipped account. If you're setting up Flipped on a minor's device, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian and that you consent on their behalf.
• You're responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You're responsible for all activity on your account.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Your device

• Flipped only works on iPhones that you own or have permission to supervise.
• You authorize Flipped to enroll your iPhone as a managed (supervised) device.
• You must back up your iPhone before first setup. The Mac app uses iOS's standard backup-restore flow to put your iPhone into supervised mode.

Removing Flipped

You can remove Flipped from your iPhone at any time. There are two paths:

• Normal removal (recommended). Open the Flipped Mac app → Settings → "Remove from iPhone." Plug the iPhone in via USB if asked. Flipped's supervision profile is removed cleanly and your iPhone returns to normal. This is what 99% of users will use.
• Emergency removal without a Mac. If you're not near your Mac and you need to remove Flipped immediately, the only path is to factory-reset your iPhone (Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Erase All Content and Settings). This wipes your iPhone — restore from your most recent backup afterwards. Use only if you truly can't reach a Mac.

By installing Flipped you acknowledge these are the two removal paths and that emergency removal requires a factory reset.

Service availability

• Flipped depends on Apple's Push Notification infrastructure and our hosting provider.
• MDM commands typically arrive within seconds, occasionally longer (minutes) under bad network conditions.
• We make reasonable efforts to keep the service running but don't guarantee uptime.

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Use Flipped to manage someone else's device without their informed consent
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or probe the Flipped backend beyond normal client API usage
• Share your account with other users
• Use Flipped as part of any automated system that hammers our API
• Submit App Store URLs that link to malware or illegal content
• Use Flipped to impersonate or defraud anyone
• Circumvent rate limits or authentication

Payment (when applicable)

If/when Flipped introduces paid plans:

• Billing will be handled by Stripe. Payment terms appear at purchase.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. Cancel anytime before your next billing cycle.
• Refund requests are handled case-by-case. Contact support@useflipped.com.

Termination

• You can terminate your account anytime by emailing support@useflipped.com.
• We can terminate your account for violating these Terms or for abusive behavior.
• On termination, any MDM profile on your iPhone is removed and supervision is stripped.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Flipped agree that any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Disclaimers + liability

Service provided "as-is". No warranty that Flipped will meet your productivity goals, work perfectly on every iPhone configuration, or be free from bugs.

Limited liability. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Flipped's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $0 if you've never paid).

We're specifically not liable for:

• Lost productivity or missed messages during an active focus session
• Data loss during the iPhone backup-restore setup
• Damage if you misuse Flipped on a device you don't own

Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes, we'll email you and post a notice. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
